Overview

Pamilacan Island is a small island located off the eastern coast of Panglao Island, in Bohol. When the wind comes from the east, Pamilacan can be a great kitesurfing option. On the eastern shore, there is a huge coastline with a sandy beach and protected flatwater lagoon with some waves on the outer reefs. If exploring Pamilacan Island, pay attention to tides as it can get quite shallow at low tide.

Directions

Pamilacan Island

The easiest way to get to Pamilacan Island is to charter a small boat. You can usually find boats at the Baclayon pier. There is no boat terminal and there are no set prices, however. You basically have to talk to the boatmen and negotiate a price. Prices range from about 3000 to 6000 pesos depending on how many passengers you bring and how well you can negotiate. Tourists often get stuck with a higher price and it can be quite a bit cheaper for locals, so best to have a local negotiate for you, if possible.

Once you get to the island, you will usually land on the backside during high wind days. In that case, you will have to hire someone wioth a motorbike to help bring you around to the windy side. Again prices will vary, but the ride could be anywhere from 100 to 450 pesos per bike for round trip.
